From gut microbiome screening to histotripsy cancer therapy, Manulife is redefining longevity support through innovation, integration, and ecosystem partnerships across Asia.
Manulife Asia has been named Health Insurer of the Year at the Asia Consumer Insurance Awards 2025, in recognition of its outstanding performance, leadership, and innovation in the region’s health insurance sector.
Manulife’s mission is to help customers make decisions easier and lives better. In Asia, enriching not just the number of years lived, but the quality of those years—by connecting health and wealth through product innovation, integrated wealth solutions, and ecosystem partnerships that bridge insurance and lifestyle.
Over the past year, Manulife introduced a suite of health solutions tailored to local needs. In Hong Kong, IncomeGuard and IncomeShield offer market-first annual payouts and simplified underwriting for critical illness. The insurer also pioneered a cross-border Cancer Drug Support Service and expanded its partnership with CUHK Medical Centre to include histotripsy cancer therapy. In Singapore, it launched Early CompleteCare and EarlyCancer Protect, and became Asia’s first insurer to offer gut microbiome screening through AMILI and liquid biopsy testing via Guardant Health. In the Philippines, Medical Secure provides PHP 5 million in coverage with cashless access to nationwide healthcare.
Manulife is also advancing Asia’s longevity movement by partnering with health and lifestyle providers to offer value-added services. It hosted its inaugural Longevity Symposium in early September, convening thought leaders to explore solutions for healthier, more purposeful ageing.
Digital transformation is central to Manulife’s integrated health and wealth strategy. Innovations like the iFUNDS platform in Singapore—the market’s first integrated digital wealth platform—and AI-powered tools have improved conversion rates and contributed to a record-high Net Promoter Score of 27 and 89% straight-through processing.
The company’s success extends to its distribution network. Its proprietary Manulife Pro platform has been expanded to five markets, driving a 23% increase in agency annual premium equivalent sales.
Manulife’s ESG commitment further reinforces its impact. Through the “Innovating for Asia’s Demographic Future” Challenge with the World Economic Forum’s UpLink platform, it backed ventures focused on healthy ageing, financial inclusion, and intergenerational resilience. Its global leadership was recognized with a ranking of 89th overall and 4th among insurers in the 2025 Corporate Knights Global 100 sustainability index—underscoring its role as a purpose-driven insurer shaping the future of health and protection in Asia.
