A different DEI lens is making learning and growth accessible and impactful to Generali Vietnam’s people, adding a practical layer to a fuller DEI landscape.
While DEI in the workplace spans many dimensions – from representation and belonging to equitable policies – there is also a practical aspect that is not always immediately linked to DEI: how employees access opportunities to learn and grow. At Generali Vietnam, this perspective adds a meaningful layer to a fuller DEI experience.
Rather than positioning DEI as a gap-bridging exercise, the insurer builds on the strength of its diverse, multi-generational workforce to drive future readiness through inclusive learning and talent development. That means equitable access to learning and career growth.
This commitment earned Generali Vietnam the Best DEI Initiative award at the Asia Consumer Insurance Awards 2026.
Over the past 12 months, the insurer has expanded these efforts under People Powered Excellence, combining structured, data-driven design with human-centred elements and innovation. Its learning “ecosystem”, GenLearning, provides flexible learning pathways shaped by business needs and employee input. It covers self-paced digital modules, webinars, multi-session programmes and specialised tracks tailored to different development profiles. Campaigns, communities, gamification and employee-driven knowledge sharing strengthen engagement.
Generali Vietnam’s local talent programmes combine Generali Group frameworks with strong local adaptation to ensure fair and structured development opportunities for high-potential employees. GeNext accelerates graduate development, Gen2Gem builds supervisory capability, and GENIUS prepares successors for senior roles. Each programme integrates structured learning, coaching and on-the-job exposure, supported by periodic assessments. Cross-country opportunities within the Generali Group, taken up by 7% of talent in 2025, give employees experience in other markets and wider internal networks.
The impact is clear. Some 98% of Generali Vietnam’s employees took part in at least one learning activity, keeping coverage above 95% for three consecutive years. Employees completed an average of 23 learning hours a year, and Generali Vietnam’s Upskilling Index reached 32.8%, beating the Generali Group’s 2025 target.
Talent programmes achieved 80% retention after one year, and 60% at graduation after a three-year journey. Employee engagement held at 95% for a second year, and average tenure rose to five years.
Generali Vietnam has created clearer pathways for employees to build skills, expand their experience and prepare for future responsibilities. The initiative has strengthened engagement, workforce stability and the insurer’s leadership pipeline while supporting a culture of inclusive growth.
